Screened Porch Time

6 Jul 2011 by admin, 2 Comments »

Our screened porch has been neglected the past few years. The paint is peeling. The dog rips through the screened panels, and the cushions on the furniture were faded and torn. This year, I decided to revamp it a bit. I spiffed up a few chairs, sewed new cushion covers, and hung some lights. Things are looking better:

If only I could keep the dog from ripping through the screens. After fixing some panels twice in the past 2 weeks, I’ve given up. It’s close enough to good for me. For now.

Tack up solid perforated panels over the lowest part of the windows. It won’t make much difference in the airflow and will keep the dog from seeing that area as a quick exit to the backyard. Give Cindy a pet door designed to be put in a screen panel in one spot for her to come & go.

We put up some solid acrylic sheets on my brother’s…just on the bottom, works great! (you could drill holes if you needed more air.)
