John and I decided to replace our rotting raised beds in preparation for our backyard garden. With a dose of inspiration from Ana-White.com, we built three of these in an afternoon.

Each box cost about $12 to build. Pretty good deal. Here they are in their permanent spot in the yard and full of soil.

Check out that beautiful soil! Thank you chickens. They are composting machines. These beds were made, filled & planted about 3 weeks ago. Already, it’s looking greener and more alive out back than this photo reflects. My early enthusiasm was not crushed by the snowfall we recently had and it looks like the gardening year is off to a good start.

I love your boxes!!! The wood is beautiful! Where did you buy it and exactly what did you buy because I would love to make these at the new house. The garden boxes we made here cost more than $12 per and they didn’t look this awesome. do tell dimensions and everything, please! I read below about your April fool’s jokes…pretty funny, love the jello grapefruit! Very creative! How did you seal the bags back?
