Organizing the Spice Cabinets

14 Jan 2011 by admin, 2 Comments »

I have my spices and small baking supplies spread among these two cabinets:

These cabinets were in need of a weeding through. I also wanted to move some of the bigger items (oil, vinegar, that kind of stuff) into the pantry since there was room there. Here are the afters:

And then I went back to the basement to finish my sewing area. It is now cleaner and more organized than it has ever been. I will show pictures over the weekend once I get them uploaded. I also started working on my daughter’s craft space — organizing and labeling her millions of little bits and pieces. As this week ends, I’m starting to feel fried. I like the results (my kids rooms and drawers are still perfect and neat — yay!) but I’m in desperate need of some fun. Don’t worry, I’m not quitting yet! I am planning to stick this through until done. Maybe I need a really good reward this weekend to keep me motivated? Margaritas anyone?

You’ll have to let me know how spices in the bins works for you. How did you sort them?

The closed bins contain bulk items and less commonly used stuff. The others are sorted into baking spices, cooking spices, baking supplies (cupcake liners, bakers twine, etc), cookie & candy supplies, and a complete bin for sprinkles. 🙂 We’ll see how it works.
