Mojo received a mosaic kit for her birthday and immediately set to work.  Presenting her first mosaic masterpiece:

I love that her hands that so carefully decorated this piece are immortalized upon it.

Her second piece of work did not turn out as well.  We discovered that grout needs to be carefully cleaned off before it completely dries.  An application of strong vinegar, a chisel, and some elbow grease helped neaten up the stone some but it was far from presentable and not near the beauty of the one above.  It was deemed a stepping stone for the chicken coop and the birds, well, they do not mind the imperfections.  In fact, they seem to enjoy pecking at the shiny stones, oblivious to the grout that stubbornly adheres to them.  I guess art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

    I love this stone too! I think the hands are trying to catch the green bubbles. I’m very happy to see Mojo’s first masterpiece and look forward to seeing many more.
