The cold continues here. As a result, I’ve been baking like crazy. This bread was made over the weekend. It contains whole wheat, oats, and barley. I was surprised that it rose so quickly in our cold house.
While it baked, the house smelled so good! The best part is taking it out of the oven.
Or maybe the really best part is cutting a still-warm slice and spreading on some jam. It’s been a toast breakfast week here (along with grapefruit and boiled eggs). And, really, I can’t think of a better way to start my day.
